Washing Pet Fabrics the Right Way

Washing Pet Fabrics the Right Way

Pet fabrics live a hard life. A little laundry know-how keeps them soft, fresh, and lasting — without wrecking the fit or the finish.

Cold, gentle, and bagged

Cold water on a gentle cycle protects shape and color. Pop knits and covers into a zippered wash bag to shield zippers and reduce pilling.

Skip fabric softener on water-resistant pieces — it clogs the finish that keeps mud and moisture out.

Dry with care

Air drying is kindest to elastic and foam. If you tumble, keep it low.

Lay knits flat to dry so they don't stretch out at the shoulders.

Refresh between washes

A quick shake-out and a lint brush between washes keeps fur from building up. Spot-clean foam cores; never submerge them.
